Challenge

Some time ago, we upgraded the existing product finder to a newer version of Pimcore for RIWAG Türen AG. Now the ageing website was also to be modernised and the product finder integrated directly into the new application. As part of the rebranding, the new website was given a facelift that blends seamlessly into RIWAG's updated design. Finally, the product finder also had to be visually in line with the new image.

The challenges were complex. On the one hand, development and testing had to take place directly in the product finder system without affecting its operation. The product finder had to remain fully functional at all times. At the same time, the newly developed modules had to be available for testing, but neither publicly visible nor indexed. Taking into account the new CI/CD manual, a fresh layout was developed based on the existing content. RIWAG's new font clearly stands out visually from the old corporate font. As the product finder leaves little room for design changes and French words are often longer, additional adjustments were made to avoid unwanted word breaks. The entire user interface is available in German and French, with the exception of the download area, which is also available in Italian.

The various customers should be able to access the desired information quickly and efficiently - a requirement that also characterises RIWAG's daily work. For this reason, the existing login of the product finder was integrated directly into the website.

Solution

Thanks to RIWAG's concrete ideas and detailed specifications, the screen design was developed quickly. The close co-operation within the team made it much easier to coordinate the individual work steps. Thanks to the early consultation, ambiguities could already be eliminated in the development phase. Testing began in parallel with development so that the content could be integrated into the live application at an early stage. This meant that open bugs could be recognised and quickly rectified before the go-live. To ensure that the new web pages were not indexed by search engines before the launch, they were labelled accordingly and not released until the go-live.

After the launch of the new website, including the customised product finder, we were also able to support RIWAG in the area of SEO. The team was optimally equipped with valuable information, practical tips and concrete recommendations for action. RIWAG Türen AG is now able to manage its information and products quickly, efficiently and independently.
