The Interlaken Training Centre (bzi) is an institution of the Canton of Berne and offers a wide range of training courses in the fields of construction, wood, technology, catering, health, social affairs and business. At the four locations Interlaken, Interlaken Mittengraben, Unterseen and Frutigen, apprentices are trained in 21 different professional fields.
The previous website was already based on a Pimcore installation, but it was technically and visually outdated. The aim was to bring the system up to date without abandoning the tried-and-tested Pimcore platform. On the contrary: bzi was convinced that it could continue to master future challenges with Pimcore.
A central concern was the connection of a new interface to the Department of Education and Culture of the Canton of Bern. The aim was to synchronise course and education data directly and up-to-date between the systems in order to avoid redundancies and centralise data maintenance.
We had a very pleasant and professional collaboration throughout the entire project. We are very satisfied with the end result. The feedback from employees and ‘customers’ is very positive.
Solution
The requirements of the various stakeholders were developed and prioritised in several workshops. This resulted in an ambitious project that broke new ground in terms of both technology and design.
Pimcore offered the ideal platform for this. It is flexible enough for complex data structures and at the same time user-friendly in daily use. Together with our UI/UX team and those responsible at bzi, we developed a modern, target group-orientated layout.
A central element of the project was the technical implementation of the interface to the Directorate of Education and Culture. Thanks to the seamless integration, external education data could be automatically transferred. This significantly reduces the maintenance effort and ensures that the content is always up to date.
